RANGERS and Scotland legend Ally McCoist knew his way to goal in his playing career.
And he reckons he knows his stuff when it comes to Glasgow’s best grub, too.
Amid all the excitement surrounding Darvel’s triumph over Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup and the other big stories dominating the footballing world, the chat turned to Indian cuisine on talkSPORT.
McCoist and Laura Woods were left stunned on air last week when the Apprentice star Thomas Skinner joined them on the Breakfast Show to reveal all on his outlandish morning dining choices.
And it seems to have had a lasting effect on Coisty and his radio co-host who earlier discussed their favourite places to eat.
McCoist was quick to give a shout-out to one of his old favourites – the Bishopton Tandoori, and he explained exactly why.
The striking icon told Laura: “I’ve got to say – the Bishopton Tandoori does, quite simply, the best garlic naan in the world.
“It is absolutely amazing.”
The popular dining spot is a short drive away from McCoist’s Renfrewshire home.
Another popular Glasgow Indian restaurant has also made a lasting impression on Laura.
In the summer of 2021, McCoist welcomed his radio pal to the city, giving her an all-access look behind the scenes at Ibrox.
During a visit to Glasgow, McCoist took Laura to Mister Singh’s, one of the city’s most well known Indian restaurants and run by Rangers fan Satty Singh.
Remembering that visit, she said: “I was full after the starters!
“But this delicious food just keep coming out. I could barely move by the end, it was so nice.”
