JOTA isn’t just idolised by the Celtic fans for his skills on the pitch.
The Portuguese attacker, who scored on Sunday in his team’s win over Dundee United, is also a favourite with many a Hoops supporter for his slick hair do.
Jota celebrates scoring against Kilmarnock[/caption]The 23-year-old’s locks have attracted much attention since he came to Scotland.
In his first season at Celtic, he posed as George Michael in Celtic’s Christmas advert – and the resemblance was uncanny.
Not only does he take plenty of time to make sure his own barnet looks tip top, he’s gone out his way to compliment someone else for their hairstyle.
Jota was being interviewed by Celtic fan media outlets when Colin Kearney of 90 Minute Cynic began speaking to the forward.
Before the interview got underway via Zoom, Jota couldn’t help but pay tribute to Kearney’s hairdo.
The interaction went as follows:-
Kearney: “Hi Jota, how are you?
Jota: “Oh, great hairstyle, love.
Kearney: “Thank you, it’s all my own colour.”
Jota laughs in response before the interviewer begins to ask his formal questions to the star winger.
It isn’t the first time he’s made a fans’ day.
During Celtic’s tour of Australia in November, Jota gave a signed match top to a young supporter in the crowd.
The strike against Dundee United on Saturday took Jota’s goal tally for the season to seven.
Earlier in the season it was revealed how his transfer market value had soared due to his excellent start to the campaign.
Meanwhile, Giorgos Giakoumakis seemingly inevitable exit now seems up in the air.
The Greek striker was all set up to join Atlanta Utd in the MLS but nothing was confirmed before Deadline Day came and went.
However, the closure of the January transfer window in Europe doesn’t apply to clubs in the USA.
Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou revealed that a resolution is close during his press conference yesterday however.
He said: “We are getting to the tail end of it one way or another and we will get a conclusion in the next 24 hours.”
