RANGERS’ horror run of form continued at Dundee as the Light Blues slipped up once again in the Premiership title race.
And the Dark Blues couldn’t resist rubbing it in after the full time whistle at Dens Park.
The Rangers players trudge off after another disappointing result[/caption]The Dee and Gers FINALLY did battle, an entire month on from when the clash was first postponed.
Having been called-off last week too, it was game on this midweek at the third time of asking.
But it didn’t quite deliver – on the goals front at least – with neither side making a breakthrough.
For Dundee, it was a welcome point. For Rangers, a disaster.
It’s now three games without a win in the league for Philippe Clement‘s men – their worst winless run for FIVE YEARS.
Rangers have won just once in their last five, blowing the chance to overtake Celtic at the top of the table.
Instead, the Hoops now have the advantage as the league enters its post-split stage.
While nothing is over yet – there are after all just three points in it – it’s going to take a gargantuan shift in momentum and form if Rangers are to be crowned champions from here.
Dundee had taken plenty of flak heading into this game for the state of their Dens Park surface, with Rangers and Clement particularly unimpressed with the situation.
But with all said and done, the Dee appeared to have the last laugh as they trolled the Gers TWICE after the full time whistle.
As the players made their way off the pitch, Sunset Bros track “I’m Feeling It” blared out of the Dens Park PA system.
The song has become synonymous with Rangers, particularly during their run to the Europa League Final two years ago.
It’s still played at Ibrox regularly to this day.
But on this occasion, it’s certainly not what the Gers players and fans wanted to hear.
As Dark Blues ace Luke McCowan spoke to Sky Sports after the match, the same track could be heard blaring out behind him as he spoke to reporter Luke Shanley.
Pre-match, the Dundee DJ had a bit of fun with things too, playing an array of weather-themed tracks, including Deacon Blue’s “Raintown”.
The Scottish Cup semi-finals take place this weekend before it’s straight into the post-split Premiership action the following weekend.
