RANGERS ultras the Union Bears made their feelings towards outgoing First Minister Humza Yousaf known at the Premiership clash against Kilmarnock.
They unfurled an X-rated banner that took aim at the SNP chief, referencing a speech made by the soon-to-be former FM.
Humza Yousaf resigned as First Minister last week[/caption]Yousaf dramatically quit as SNP leader and First Minister last week.
He resigned following huge criticism over his decision to boot the Scottish Greens out of government and bring an end to their power sharing agreement.
Yousaf had also been due to face a vote of confidence prior to announcing his intention to quit.
And before the Gers’ clash with Killie, the Union Bears unfurled a scathing banner against Yousaf.
It read: “Minister for transport – s****
“Minister for culture – s****
“Justice Secretary – s****
“Health Secretary – s****
“First Minister – s***
“F*** the SNP”.
The banner made reference to the ministerial and cabinet positions held by Yousaf since he entered parliament more than a decade ago.
It also appeared to be a reference to a speech made by Yousaf at Holyrood back in 2020.
The then-Justice Secretary listed examples of the high profile positions in Scotland that were held by white people.
In the speech, Yousaf said: “In the Scottish Parliament speech, Mr Yousaf – who was Justice Secretary at the time – said that “in 99 per cent of their meetings I go to, I am the only non-white person in the room”.
He then said: “But why are we so surprised when the most senior positions in Scotland are filled almost exclusively by those who are white?
“Take my portfolio alone. The Lord President: white. The Lord Justice Clerk: white. Every High Court judge: white. The Lord Advocate: white. The Solicitor General: white. The chief constable: white. Every deputy chief constable: white. Every assistant chief constable: white. The head of the Law Society: white. The head of the Faculty of Advocates: white. Every prison governor: white.
“And not just justice. The chief medical officer: white. The chief nursing officer: white. The chief veterinary officer: white. The chief social work adviser: white. Almost every trade union in this country, headed by people who are white. In the Scottish Government, every director general is white. Every chair of every public body is white. That is not good enough.”
Yousaf could be replaced as First Minister as early this week.
Former Deputy FM John Swinney is the only senior figure to have declared in the leadership race.
